22 weeks and Lung Doc Appointment

Yes! I know it's in the bathroom at work again, but I didn't want to forget tonight. I am 22 weeks today! Only 18 left!! I can't believe it. On Saturday it's 4 months left! WOW! Little Robert is working his muscles to be a great Butterfly swimmer like his Uncle Dougie and his mommy used to be. Holy cow! Sometimes he just goes crazy on my left side. Luckily it just is soft right now. I can only imagine what it's going to turn into :)

Yesterday I went and say the Lung Specialist. After a few tests---lung capacity and oxygen levels sitting and walking around and a few other things I met the doctor. Everything was within "Normal" range but I'm on some pretty high doses of inhalers and such so He's keeping at the high levels and I'm to continue using my breathing machine as needed (I got a pretty new one yesterday ($250 later---thank you insurance!) and I have to see him monthly until Little Robert graces us with his presence. There is a high chance I'll have to be on steriods (not muscle steriods people) the last 6-8 of my pregnancy the way things are going. I also got a really good blessing on Saturday night. I am a very anxious person and I am NOT medicated right now and so I was getting really anxious about my breathing having a bad effect on our little one, but I was reassured that he would have no negative effects from this little episode! THANK HEAVENS! I didn't care about getting better or anything else, I was just worried about him and everything will be ok! I told Bryce that the doctor said to continue with the breathing machine for once a week and then just as needed but Bryce says last night, I think then after a week you should go every other day to make sure you're doing well without having that extra medicine. He's so cute and I'm so grateful for him and for the love that he has for me. He's been so concerned and it's so sweet!

Bryce also said to me the other day that he can't wait until this baby gets here. 20 weeks is long enough for a pregnancy. So I asked him why and he said he wants to play with him and hold him and love him. Ahhhhh.....so sweet and then he said and then he can get big and we can go 4-wheeling more! LOL! There is always a little underlying reason for things! I love you boo! and our Little Jelly Bean :)

Update!

Thanks for all the well-wishes. I am feeling slightly better today. I think the steroids have finally kicked in. My cough is more wet now though, so I'm hoping it isn't turning into pneumonia. Cuz really, that wouldn't be fun! I'll find out Monday! Ugh! That's a long ways away.

Bryce has taken great interest in the blog as of a few days ago and says I don't post enough and I post too much about OTHER people. Maybe I need to get a more exciting life so that I have more to post about! So I'm going to try to do better!

Asthma SUX!

So, we spent all day Saturday outside. I've already been having a bit of an issue with my asthma with all the wind and it being spring and being pregnant that Saturday just killed me. On Sunday I got progressively worse and even worse on Monday. I left work early on Monday to volunteer at the new Temple (I'll post about that later) and Monday night I didn't sleep at all because I couldn't breath (I even took an ambien and STILL didn't sleep) well, I ended up in Quick Care Tuesday morning and after a breathing treatment I was feeling much better. I thought I was getting sick, BUT it's just asthma. They had my OB up my Advair to the MEGA dose and I'm doing alright today. I have an appointment with a Lung (Pulmonary) Specialist on Monday and hopefully we can get my asthma under control. It's a TWO hour appointment. And I get to skip the X-Ray part! Today, I can't even talk without getting out of breath and my bronchial tubes are so swollen it sounds like I'm losing my voice! So much fun! I am 21 weeks (yesterday). I'll try to have Bryce take a picture of my belly :) My weekly email says that I should be able to start feeling baby Robert kick on the outside any day now! That will be so much fun. Let's just hope he stays away from the LUNGS!

Grandma Arelene Alvord

Arlene Skeen Alvord 1919 ~ 2009 Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend returned home to our Heavenly Father on Saturday, May 30, 2009. Arlene was born October 4, 1919 to Blaine and Irene Maw Skeen in Plain City, Utah. She graduated from Weber County High School and Seminary. Arlene married Paul Edmond Alvord on November 24, 1937 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and was blessed with three children. During their marriage they lived in Plain City, North Ogden, Okinawa, Warner Robbins, Georgia, Logan, and South Jordan, Utah. She established committed life time friendships, she also created beautiful homes. Arlene's life has been one of service. She was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She cherished her many callings in the Primary, Sunday School and Relief Society. She helped to organize the first Primary held for Oriental children in the Far East in 1968 while living in Okinawa. She faithfully performed her duties answering the telephone at the Jordan River Temple until she was 85 years young. She enjoyed the many years she served as a volunteer at the Logan Regional Hospital, also serving as President of the Volunteer Auxiliary. In 1996 she received the "Utah Volunteer of the Year" Award from the Utah Association of Health Providers. She supported children through many years of service in the PTA Organization. Survived by three children Karen Hill Allred (Gary), Scott Alvord (Jackie), Ross Alvord (Shelley); nine grandchildren, 14 great-grand-children and one great-great- granddaughter, all of whom she loved and took an ongoing interest in making their lives special. She is also survived by sisters Beth Bitton, Beverly Pledger, sister-in-law Lorna Skeen and brothers Ronald Skeen (Shirley) and Garry Skeen (Sherrille), brother-in-law Ray Alvord (Bonnie) and sister-in-law Zelma Alvord. Arlene was preceded in death by her husband Paul, her parents, sister Barbara, brother Lyman, brother-in-laws, Raymond Bitton, Robert Pledger and son-in-law Jack Hill. The family wishes to express thanks to Intermountain Medical Staff and VistaCare. Viewing will be held Friday, June 5, 2009, at the South Jordan River Ridge Chapel, adjacent to the Jordan River Temple, 10200 S. 1300 W. from 2-4 p.m. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, June 6, 2009 at Lindquist's North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. 20 weeks

You're at the halfway mark — congratulations! Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana. (The way your baby is measured changes now.) He's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system. He's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you'll see it in his first soiled diaper (although some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).

The wedding was perfect! Everything went really well except for the rain at the temple. It rained the WHOLE time we were there. Melissa put on a happy face having spent two nights in the ER with her stress ulcers. The Newleyweds are at the family cabin. Jack graduates on Thursday so they put off their cruise a week so they could go. Bryce and I have to work so we have to miss it :(

We also are now missing Jack's graduation party because Bryce's grandma went to be with Grandpa Paul in Heaven on Saturday as well. All is well. She's been in a lot of pain the last few years with bad circulation in her legs and finally it got to be too much. She was 89 years old and lived a long righteous life!! We miss you Grandma!!!
