Doctor's Appointment
My doctor's appointments will start being on my "WEEK" mark starting this coming Tuesday but this week I went today (Thursday). It was my first REAL CHECK to see if I've started at all. Now, I have to say that before I went I was a little concerned because I was nervous that (1) I'd be at 0 cm and 0% effaced and that would just be disappointing BUT (2) that they'd say oh wow! you're at 5 cm and 100% effaced you're not leaving go downstairs. Bryce's mom left for Savannah this morning and will be gone until Tuesday night and my dad just had minor surgery on his foot this past Monday so it would be hard for my mom to come up! SOOOOOOOOOOOO I was nervous! Glad to say NEITHER of those things happened. I'm at 1 cm and I'm 50% effaced!! Wahoo! I know I can be that until my due date but I've felt for the last couple weeks that I won't make it that far. (And not just because of wishful thinking). I also found out that my doctor will be out of town from October 8th-October 19th (I'm due the 20th!!!) so we decided today (me and Robert) that he's coming on October 7th. I'll have a doctors appointment on October 6th and the 7th is MY dad's birthday and so it will be a great birthday present for my dad :) So hopefully Robert sticks to his end of our deal and actually listens :) If not, I guess someone else is delivering him because I don't want to wait until my due date! IT'S GETTING SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CLOSE!!!!

30 weeks & Glucose Test Results
I guess I should post a picture. Maybe later today. I got my glucose test results back yesterday and they said everything was NORMAL. But today at my appointment I saw the actual numbers. In order to PASS the initial 1 hr test you have to be below 140, I was 148! She told me I was really high--stupid nurse gets me all concerns. In order to PASS the 3 hr test your blood draws have to be below 95, 180, 155, 140 respectively and I was 88, 158, 113, 123 so I passed with flying colors!!! WAHOOO!!!!
I am officially 30 weeks today. The countdown on the sidebar says 69 or 70 days (not sure why the # of days are different). We're getting pretty excited for Robert to get here. I cut out my fabric the other day for some receiving blankets and burp rags and I've been putting together the address list for my baby shower! How exciting?? I can't believe we're getting that close! I sewed 8 burp rags last night. I have a couple different patterns and so 6 are one pattern and the other two are a different one. I'll post pictures when I'm done :)
We need to get the baby's room all finished BUT Bryce isn't going to be doing much of anything for a little while. He broke his ankle of Saturday while he was riding his dirt bike. Silly boy. He just has a splint on it right now but should have it casted tomorrow. The ER doctor wouldn't say for sure if it was broken, but I'm pretty darn sure it is. He's still pretty uncomfortable from it and is still taking pain meds at night (since he can't work on them). I'll keep you posted on that and will take pictures for you!

3 Hour Glucose Test
Thanks for all the compliments on my hair :) My sister did it while we were camping! It's growing so fast so I made her cut it really short! It's also growing out REALLY funky too...it's pretty funny.
I got my test results back today from my 1 hr glucose test and my blood sugar levels were high so I go in on Thursday for the 3 hour test! UGH! Not nice! They said they'd call in 2-3 days if the results weren't ok and if I didn't hear then it was good news. Well, I went a week ago, so I thought I was in the clear! I guess not. I also have to take IRON supplements to help raise my red blood cell counts. That I can understand (I guess my mom had that issue too). I'm hoping the high sugar level is because I can't handle them making me drink SUPER amounts of sugar all at once. It made me so sick last time....not looking forward to Thursday morning!

Asthma SUX!

So, we spent all day Saturday outside. I've already been having a bit of an issue with my asthma with all the wind and it being spring and being pregnant that Saturday just killed me. On Sunday I got progressively worse and even worse on Monday. I left work early on Monday to volunteer at the new Temple (I'll post about that later) and Monday night I didn't sleep at all because I couldn't breath (I even took an ambien and STILL didn't sleep) well, I ended up in Quick Care Tuesday morning and after a breathing treatment I was feeling much better. I thought I was getting sick, BUT it's just asthma. They had my OB up my Advair to the MEGA dose and I'm doing alright today. I have an appointment with a Lung (Pulmonary) Specialist on Monday and hopefully we can get my asthma under control. It's a TWO hour appointment. And I get to skip the X-Ray part! Today, I can't even talk without getting out of breath and my bronchial tubes are so swollen it sounds like I'm losing my voice! So much fun! I am 21 weeks (yesterday). I'll try to have Bryce take a picture of my belly :) My weekly email says that I should be able to start feeling baby Robert kick on the outside any day now! That will be so much fun. Let's just hope he stays away from the LUNGS!

Kolvin Vaughn Thompson

You can see in this picture how little he is. Kolvin is Bryce and my really good friends little boy. Andrea and Dan are so amazing and we're so grateful for their friendships. This is their 2nd child together, but their first to be able to raise here in this life. Little Abbe was born last April and lived just a short while (she was born at 23 weeks). Kolvin is healthy and strong. He was little, 4 lbs 15 ozs, but mom and baby are home (last night) and he was born Tuesday night. He's so adorable!! They're of course hoping we're having a boy so that Kolvin and our baby will be friends. Andrea has a little girl from her first marriage (that has been sealed to Dan & Andrea :)) and Emma (5) is so excited to be a big sister! CONGRATS DAN & ANN.
18 weeks!

My friend at work makes fun of me for taking my "weekly" belly shot in the bathroom at work. I don't own a full length mirror and we have a deocorative mirror in our bathroom at home and is too high for my shortness. This is my 18 week shot and I swear that the 3 days it's been since this picture, I've really grown. I can definately feel the baby now. Last night, we worked on the yard for longer then I should have and the baby was SOOOOOO active. It was really fun!!

17 Weeks....and counting....wait...who's counting??
So I'm pretty much feeling HUGE! But it's all good! Two weeks until the ULTRASOUND!!! YAHOO!!!! I can't wait. We get to go home this weekend for my cousin's wedding and I'm super excited about that. :) I'm so anxious to feel this little one move. I swear I felt it yesterday but who's to know for sure. I'm sure once I start feeling it, I will think....STOP!! No more. Just Kidding :)----OK JEN (cooper) This should fix the issues with the color and size of this post. I didn't look at the post after I posted it. As for the last picture, that black and white shirt makes me look HUGE but I promise I am getting bigger.Your baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and she's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop.

Boy or Girl??
I had my 1st doctor's appointment with my new doctor today. She's married to my mom's cousin and delivered my cousin's first son!! She's really nice! I got to hear the babies heart beat!! That was way exciting. Made me REALLY nervous at first but it was fun. I am 16 weeks today. I can't believe how fast it is going yet at the same time, I still have 24 weeks to go! LOL! I'm just inpatient, as my parents and my husband. We'll find out if it's a boy or a girl on May 26th!!! YEAH!!! I can't wait. Our appointment is at 7:30 in the morning EW but that way Bryce can be there! I'm excited cuz it's just going to make that week even better. 1st Monday is Memorial Day so NO WORK and then I have Friday off to drive to San Diego for Dougie & Melissa's WEDDING so it's a 3 day work week and on Tuesday I find out if I'm having a boy or girl!! So much fun! I'm going to put a poll so you guys can guess what I'm having! Sounds fun. I told my dad I wanted to do a poll and he said....I poll it's a baby cuz I don't think it's a puppy or a joey HAHA dad!! Last week he tried to tell me to wait until the baby was born to find out the sex! Seriously DAD! WHY!!!

14 weeks
I was 14 weeks on Tuesday! Lots of fun! I look HUGE in this picture but I don't always look this large! Interesting :)Welcome to the second trimester! This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb. Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb. In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces.

Baby Blob Alvord

SOOOOO....The pictures aren't that great but we got to see the baby today! It was way fun!! We saw the heartbeat and we could see it moving around. Two arms, two legs and for all those out there that were trying to jinx me, there is only ONE!!!! Lots of fun! Also, on another good note. Bryce got a job offer today and he accepted it!!! WAHOO!!!! He starts Monday! What a relief!!!

10 Weeks Prego

So I uploaded a small picture because this picture just makes me look fat. I seriously can't believe I'm showing already. I really haven't gained weight, it's just all shifted to my chest and belly! The look on my face is because I'm trying to suck in as much as possible, but its not working very well. Yikes!!! Well, this is what the "experts" say about our little one....Although he's barely the size of a kumquat — a little over an inch or so long, crown to bottom — and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce, your baby now has completed the most critical portion of his development. This is the beginning of the so-called fetal period, a time when the tissues and organs in his body rapidly grow and mature. If you could take a peek inside your womb, you'd spot minute details, like tiny nails forming on fingers and toes (no more webbing) and peach-fuzz hair beginning to grow on tender skin.

Change in Cribs!!!

My dad's sister, Michele, called me a few days before we went home a couple weekends ago to say that if I wanted I could have her crib and changing table from when she had my cousin Anna. Well, they're POTTERY BARN and the crib was recalled when Anna was 2 so my Aunt took it in and exchanged it and Anna slept in it for about 2 months before she moved to a "BIG GIRL" bed, so more or less it's TWO MONTHS old. So my mom resold the cherry one on craiglist (it sold in 2 days! LOL) and I have this one. I love it and can't wait until we set it up. Hopefully next weekend we do the office switch.Bryce was layed off on Monday. The company he worked for is a moving company and Bryce was buddies with the owners kids. Well, they're struggling because the housing market it down so much and they more or less layed off everyone but family. Monday was a hard day, but we know that there is a plan for us and that he'll find another job and that everything will be ok. I don't know how people get through life without the Lord, cuz I seriously would be a mess right now considering we have a house and now a baby on the way!!! The plus side of this is that Bryce has had LOTS of extra time the last few days to work around the house. He almost has the last room in the house finished!!! It's going to be our office so that our "guest"/"baby" room doesn't have to be partially an office anymore. It should be done by Saturday. I think he'll paint it tomorrow!! Then, once he figures out the carpet deal in the shed, my craft room will be done and then we can get almost everything out of our garage!!! Oh, I can't wait to park in the garage!!! I've never got to do that before!!! It will be so much fun! haha!!!
Let's see, I've had a few people ask questions, so I'll answer them here, now!! I am feeling great! I have moments, but more or less I've gotten really lucky so far. I've had one bad day were I thought the morning sickness was starting, but it only lasted that one day. My mom really didn't get sick, so I just think we're really blessed that way.
My next doctors appointment is April 6th. It's the first one with my doctor and she'll do a bedside ultrasound on the little ultrasound machine just to make sure the baby is growing right and to check the chambers of the umbical cord (which I didn't know had chambers-lol!!) My ultrasound to find out what we're having will either be the week before my brother's wedding or the week after. I'm hoping the week before so that we can go shopping in Cali!!! He's getting married May 30th in the San Diego Temple for those of you who didn't know that :) I think that answers most of the questions! I've hit the chubby stage and I'm not really a fan of the chubby stage cuz I just feel fat. I already can't wear my wedding ring :( It was getting tight before I got prego, so yeah! I'm 8 weeks prego this past Tuesday and my due date is Oct 20th. My sister in law was due the 21st but she went late! I keep harrassing Jack that we're going to have the baby early and have it on his birthday the 18th which doesn't make him very happy!!! It's pretty darn funny!!

Reactions
A few people asked about what Bryce's reaction was when he found out. We haven't been "trying" but we haven't been "preventing" for about 5 or 6 months now, but I was having NO symptoms that I would have even thought that I was pregnant. I realized that I was late (is that too much info?? oh well, it's my blog!) and so I decided to take a test. It was almost instant that it came up saying PREGNANT and I just gasped! I was so excited, but SOOOOOOOOOO SHOCKED! Bryce was brushing his teeth and looks down and says "OH, SH!!!" Yes he swore! But we were both shocked. We found out on Valentines Day which is the day before Bryce's birthday. Bryce was immediately stressed about providing and he didn't want to tell anyone for a month! Until he decided that it would be fun to tell my mom and call her a Grandma on her birthday (which is Bryce's birthday also!). So we did and of course we couldn't stop there. Now that the shock has worn off we are so excited, stressed, and thrilled, and nervous and everything! It's weird how you think you know how you'll feel and then the little plastic piece changes your WHOLE life! We're not due until October 19/20, depending on who you ask! I have my first doctors appointment on the 5th! Yeah!!! So much fun!!!

Best Birthday for my Mom...aka GRANDMA!!!

Well, we surprised my mom on her birthday yesterday that she is going to be a GRANDMA!! Yes, you read that right. We are pregnant. We are just barely pregnant, but I can't keep secrets and if it's going to be a long pregnancy for me then it can be a long pregnancy for EVERYONE! We are due on October 20th. My little brother Jack informed me that I am NOT allowed to have the baby on his birthday the 18th. We'll see how that goes Mr. Jack!!! Lol. I've been pretty sleepy the last week and a half and couldn't figure out why!! Well, now it makes sense! Let's hope I continue feeling great!!! :) I'll keep you all posted!!!

Cloth Diapers
So I've seen so much in the bloggin world about clothe diapers. The initial start up cost is ridiculous but if you plan on using them for all your kids it will save so much money in the long run. They're completely different then I thought. I still don't know if I'll use them, but here is a site where this awesome lady review them. Check out her blog http://rollingthroughlooneyville.blogspot.com/2008/11/cloth-diaper-showdown-and-giveaway.html?showComment=1227219720002#c5943880600549806849

Blankie/Toy
So I made this blankie for someone who is having a baby and I thought i'd share. It's that fabulously soft bumpy fabric and flanel & silky on the other side. I put the ribbon around cuz babies like to put their fingers through the tags on toys/stuffed animals and they like to suck on them. I think it turned out pretty good for my first one!
