Bird's in the Dryer Vent

So about 6 months ago we had issues with birds flying in our dryer vent. (Spring time). Bryce THOUGHT he had cleaned out their "small" nest and we recovered the vent opening on the outside of the house (ours had been broken) and no more birds entered the vent. Well, we've been having issues with our dryer taking FOREVER to dry clothes. Right after I had Robert, Bryce & Shelley went to our house one day and cleaned to prepare for my parents arrival. Bryce's mom did laundry and couldn't believe how slow our dryer was and then my mom did some when she was there, so Bryce "cleaned" out the vent tube again. Well, I guess his shop vac didn't get everything. We bought a "new" used dryer from his parents (that was his grandma's) and bryce decided to use different tubing. Well, we found a ONE FOOT blockage in the middle with FIVE bird eggs. SERIOUSLY! No wonder it didn't work. I asked my mom why they never hatched and she said I probably cooked them. I'm surprised they didn't STINK!

My Craft Room OASIS

Craft Room Picture #1

The other side...

So blogger is really making me mad. I can't get it to let me type the story at the BEGINNING of the post. What the heck? Neways, I'm not sure if any of you remember that I was going to get a craft room in this house of ours. We bought the house 11 months ago! WOW! have we really been homeowners that long and we're FINALLY getting to finishing up some things. Our projects right now include finishing the paint the bedroom/den downstairs--which was going to be an office and now will host a twin bed and our computer cuz we need a place for the twin bed cuz of our little one on the way, getting all my craft stuff to the craft room and cleaning out our FULL two car garage. How can TWO 2o-somethings have a house and garage full of STUFF!! On Saturday after Bryce helped with the Ward/Neighborhood cleanup, he moved my dresser and the office credenza that will now be storage for craft stuff and the old kitchen table my grandma gave me for my craft room to the shed/CRAFT OASIS!!! He also started moving my boxes and boxes and old storage things of craft stuff out to the CRAFT OASIS. Last night we moved most of the rest of the boxes out to the shed....I mean OASIS and I started going thru them. I made it thru the multi colored storage compartment you see in the above pictures which is going to find itself at my friends garage sale. I also made it thru a rubbermaid 3 drawer compartment thingy. Not bad, I'd say. There is SOOOOOOOO much more to do, but I'm just excited to be able to have my sewing machine out and my cricut and I may still use my Sizzix if It's out on a stable table. I can finish all my crazy projects and not make a mess while doing it because I've had to dig thru stuff to get to it.

We're painting edges tonight in the basement bedroom/den and the 2nd coat and hopefully the ceiling. So that we can get the furniture moved Wednesday/Thursday and then we can set up the babies room---what we have so far next week. I guess people saying I'm nesting already. Who knows, it feels good to have my house coming to order. If it's nesting, let it be cuz I might get to park my car in the garage this summer!!!

Last Update until we're moved in

This is looking down our stairs to the front door. The kitchen is behind where I'm standing and the living room to the right and a hallway to my left with the bedrooms and bathroom down that hall.
Our entryway tile/slate! Love love love it. I need to clean it though!!
My still messy and not put together living room, but it's a start!!! Especially cuz it's starting to look for a house.
My kitchen is getting put together... My new microwave is the only NEW new appliance, the others are new to us but are used. Didn't Bryce do an awesome job on the floor. He's amazing!
My father in law adding caulking around the shower. It's actually done now but I have yet to see it (I played softball last night :)) It turned out really good
My Bathroom mirror but it will go up longways and my plant (fake) for the bathroom

My amazing master closet! We have one more shelf to add somewhere.
haha....do you like how our other bathroom became a storage room for all our building supplies :)

House update

Our amazing cabinets. All painted almost ready to put back on!!
The contrast of the Red wall, the black cabinets and the grey countertops
This is the amazingly perfect line that bryce taped. It's the divider between our livingroom and dining room!
The bath is almost done. Only the top row and both side rows need to be completed!
We hopefully will have the carpet installed on the 2nd of August. We're going to Fish Lake for the family reunion this weekend (well Wednesday night) so we won't have a whole lot of time. Bryce is almost done sheet rocking the ceiling in the basement as well, so really just the ceiling and the floors and WE'RE DONE!!!

House Update

Bryce texturing the ceilng where the previous owners did a patch job! He did such a fabulous job! He had NEVER done it before and it looks FABULOUS!
Bryce's dad sprayed the entire house yesterday and all the doors. Bryce's mom and I rolled the primer onto my kitchen walls. Yes the primer is PINK and NO it's not staying that way. They'll be RED aka Hot Tamale! The rest of the house is malt with white ceilings, white baseboards, doors and railings. It looks pretty good. Well, my craftroom will be a light green (cat mint---interesting name for paint).
Tonight we're taking the night off and going to see Seinfield Live and then tomorrow we have to sand the new texture part of the ceiling, paint the kitchen, ALL the ceilings and baseboards and Bryce will be drywalling the ceiling in the basement. The I get the pleasure of packing. We have Sat-Wed to be out of the apartment because we head to VEGAS for the 4th of July with my family on the 3rd. We're pretty excited about that. The carpet however has been pushed back to the 12th so if we're not quite finished with the house we'll have another week when we get back from Boulder City, NV

Update on the house!!

What happened to our bathroom????

Getting ready to throw the couch they left over the balcony in memory of Bryce's Grandma.

Couch on the ground!!

No more tree, no more stump but a beautiful planter and you can see our pretty garage door in this picture!!

Bryce tearing out the wood floors. What until you see our pretty laminate!!

SO SO exciting. We started the construction phase instead of the destruction.

Work in Progress

WOW! What a weekend! We were busy little bees. Friday night we stayed at the house past 12:00. I scrubbed walls with bleach, pulled up the rest of the carpet and helped Bryce with the paneling downstairs. Saturday we were up at 6:30 for trip to the dump. Then we did a few things around the house and then went and met Tyler at Standard Plumbing to get our toilet, kitchen faucet and shower stuff. We then went back and I scrubbed walls for a few hours while Bryce tore down the drop ceiling. At about noon, Russ & Megan and George & Dilynn came and the boys cut down the tree and hauled it to the dumb (over the course of about 6 hours) then the girls pulled staples from the padding out. (my fingers are DEAD). Bryce's dad and friend Tim and Bryce's mom came a little while later and we cleaned up the tree mess, I pulled more staples and we got the basement looking fabulous and ready for drywalling (just to make the floors messy again). It's coming together. I can't wait until we can move it. I have a few pictures I'll post in the next few days!

Houses!!!!!!!!!

Our realtor called last night to inform us that we're still the highest offer on the West Jordan house and still the ONLY offer on the Taylorsville house. We love them both, but we like the Taylorsville house more BUT it needs more work before we could move in AND it would be worth more money. We'll be happy with either but we're leaning towards the house in Taylorsville. I'll keep you posted.

House update

Well, we found another house a put an offer on it on Monday. It's another short sale. It's the same south as the other house but farther west (just really means LONG DRIVE in the AM), but it's essentially the same house, but with an attached two car garage. The basement is all finished, but it needs paint and carpet. Small sacrifice for the amount of equity it will have in it already. We're hoping. They think we'll hear by tomorrow (at least something). We're dealing with a small mortgage company this time, NOT WELLS FARGO and their realtor seems more real and not a complete JOTW (lol, Bryce's favorite saying). We'll keep you posted

Still waiting...

I hadn't realized that it had been so long since I posted. I hope you all forgive me. This weekend was amazing. It was awesome listening to the new prophet! I love conference. My sister in law came into town Friday night and while Bryce got his dirt bike ready for their trip to the dunes on Wednesday, I went shopping with his mom and sister for maturnity clothes for his sister. She's barely showing. She's only 12 weeks, but planning ahead. We had fun. We than rode with his mom around while she shot some pictures of some houses for work. I can't believe some of the houses we saw! HOLY HUGE! They're just hiding away in these little private lanes. I don't understand it. People spend a half a million or more for a house just to tear it down and rebuild. So really they're paying that for .75 arces. Crazy huh? Bryce and I just hung out together Saturday night. Than Sunday we spent the day at his parents house, eating way too much food and enjoying conference and each other. His brother and sister in law flew in around 7 on Sunday. It's fun to have the whole family here. Brionne leaves Tuesday night and Darron and LuAnne leave Friday night. So much fun. I'm so excited to be an aunt! I just can't wait to know what it is. My goal this summer is to be more crafty and spend my time more wisely, so I'm going to do some sewing and just a few fun projects that I have planned and hopefully get some scrapbooking done!!

I got sent home from work today because my boss said "you look green". I felt terrible. It's tax season and I was really trying to fake it. I had a headache that was so horrible that it was making me sick to my stomach and than I took my vitamins and it got even worse. NO I'm not pregnant, so don't even get the thought in your head (I actually took a test just to be sure). I'm feeling better but still not really wanting to eat, which is bad, because we're having Cafe Rio for dinner.

The update on the house is that I don't have one. It's down to three of us and they're just picking one of our offers. We're supposed the hear today, but it's 4PM and we still haven't heard. We'll see. I hope you're all doing well!

Finally....

The wait is almost over. But that just means that more people had opportunity to place offers. We stepped up our game this morning and we're waiting to hear. It SUPPOSED to go to auction Wednesday (tomorrow), but the bank says they're not going to hold it so we'll see. We hoping and praying, but if it doesn't work out there is something else out there!

House update

Well, the good news is they haven't given it to someone else and only ours and the other 2 offers are there. The bad news is the bank just barely assigned a negotiator yesterday and the ordered an apprasial which could take up to a week and when that's done they will make offers. Somehow they got approval to delay the foreclosure which was supposed to be the 14th. We'll see. We're really frustrated but there is not a whole lot we can do but wait.

Update on our CRAZY life!

Well, the newest update on the house is we're still anxiously waiting. We talked to our realtor today and they bank that we'd be buying it from is working up something. They have to have someone that could close by the 10th because on the 11th it's a foreclosure and would HAVE to go to auction which would mean that they would get a lot less money than they're asking for it. We're still hopefully and prayful that it would work out.
We've been trying to do "cheap" or "free" dates. So last night we went to Home Depot to pick out the paint for the house (if we get it) and we found a really cool toffee color for the front room which will match perfectly with our green and wood furniture and than we want to paint the kitchen RED. I know. I LOVE LOVE LOVE red. Except I saw this really cool orange kitchen but most of our kitchen stuff is Red, so we're going to stick with that.

The wall color is in the 2nd column 3rd from the bottom!!!

The kitchen color is the 2nd color TOP one. We can't decide to just do it under the chairrail or under and above!

We also picked out our fridge and washer/dryer while we were there! It was so much fun. I recommend just going and looking and dreaming while you can. We picked all GE appliances. We're pretty excited. Now we just need the HOUSE!!!!

This is the fridge we really like

Super fabulous washer that Bryce said we could get!!!

with the matching dryer!!

Other than that, not a whole lot is going on. Bryce starts his apprasial classes online and I'm doing my first independant study assignment this weekend!! Yikes! It's so hard getting back into school!
