Robert Jack is 15 months Old

At his 15th Month Appointment--Check out those calves that he inherited from his mother!

Watching Ice Age on the iPad with cousin Max (Max's daddy's iPad)

I've been meaning to do the post for a couple weeks now but I keep forgetting. Robert was 15 months on December 30th. We had his Dr's appt that day and he was 25 lbs 4 oz and 32 inches long. I'm pretty sure that was 60% and 84%. His head was in the 80% and I think was 19 inches. I can't remember exactly.

He's really progressing and it's really fun. She asked me some pretty specific questions that they have to ask now for Autism and he passed. The questions she asked were, is he running, does he have 3-5 words and the big one was does he play with an imagination. I had to think about it but he uses my blow dryer as a car. Yes he does. Does he mimic you? Like want a rag when your cleaning, etc. Yes he does :)

So to point on those questions, Robert doesn't really walk anywhere. He's an on the go boy. RUNNING and falling and RUNNING some more. He almost had to get stitches the day before his 15 month birthday. He was running with a HUGE toy and fell on it. His Grammy was watching him and she felt terrible BUT I'm sure he'll be just like his Uncle Dougie and have LOTS of sets of stitches.

As for words--he has way more than 5 he says:
Mama
Dada
Papa (his FAVORITE person)
Mama but it has different inflection and it's Grammy
Ma Ma and that's Max--I promise you can tell the different
Mooore=More
Dun-Done
Up
Tank To-Thank You, but he only repeats it
Soooos-Shoes. I tell him we need to put his shoes on and he says it and then will bring them to me
Trash
Booooom-Broom-his favorite toy
Caaw-Car
Ball
Bank-Blankie
Bippie-Sippy
Nana-Banana
Ceeese-Cheese
mmmmm-Yummy
buh bye--bye

First combined words was "dada buh bye" that he said right after Bryce left.

Animal Sounds
quack quack--this became the sound for EVERY animal and we're slowing getting him to say the other animal sounds again.
Mooo
Cak a doo--Rooster
Swack, Swack-Parrot

He pretty much will repeat anything we say or at least try too. He knows where his nose is and where our noses are and says beep. He knows where his BIG OLE belly is. He loves his belly for some reason.

Robert is REALLY strong. Very unusually STRONG for someone his age. The other day he had the broom and popper toy in one hand and the play basketball in the other. He's always been strong but he's starting to throw things so we have to keep a very good eye on him so he doesn't hurt or break someone/anything.

The reason I remembered to post was because I didn't want to forgot to write down this story. Shelley said that yesterday as she was watching him he came into the kitchen (his favorite place to be since he has lots of gadgets) and got out two lids and a big spoon and he took them back into the living room and started scooping food from them and making smacking noises with his mouth. She just watch in awe. He's never used his imagination like that ALL on his own. So much fun. His most imagination was most things are cars and make a motor sound.

He loves to pretend to vaccum and clean our windows---maybe he's trying to tell me I need to do it more. He loves everything that makes noise. Most kids run away and Robert runs towards it in awe.

Our goal is when our boys (and girls if they want) turn 12 they get to pick out a MAJOR fixer upper car and they will work on the car until their 16. If they work on it with Bryce and learn and fix it up, then they can have it. I forsee this being Robert's FAVORITE thing to do. I see him outside in the summer with some fake tools helping Bryce fix the fence or helping dad mow the lawn. He's getting too big too fast!

I can't wait to see all the fun things that he does in the next few month.

I'm going to try and record them more often.

New Posts

Ok, there are 3 new posts. I'm not in any pictures because I always take the pictures. My sister in law took some of me at the Lake and Camping so I'll think about posting those when I get them. I also need to post about the CO Wedding Trip Robert and I went on with my mom, Aunt Cheryl and cousin Whitney (with baby Ryder in belly). Saren (my cousin) was a beautiful bride!) BUT I forgot my camera so I need to get the pictures off of facebook :)

The Happenings.

Hailey, Jack, Dougie, Melissa, JJ (Hailey's Boyfriend), Me & Bryce (Robert was sleeping.)
We have been so so busy and it's only going to get worse. My family was here the last weekend in April for my little brother Dougie's College Graduation. He's not quite done (he has one class he's finishing right now) but he got to walk. All of us kids and our spouses/boyfriends are in this picture. Bryce and I went on a overnigher the night before his graduation and stayed in Park City (no pictures). It was so nice getting away.

Robert and I are just getting healthy. We've been sick for about 10 days now. He ended up with a DOUBLE ear infection and cough and I've had a sinus infection/asthma issues. It hasn't been fun. Glad we're healthy because we're headed to Pine Valley, UT (near St. George) aka Heaven on Earth this weekend to spend the long weekend with my family and Grandma Broadbent.

Robert is growing. He's in 12 month clothes. If they're one piece outfits they can't be pants or they're too short. He's over 22 lbs now. He was sick and just under, so now that he's eating again, I know he's over 22. He's so heavy. He's ARMY crawling everywhere or rolling. He LOVES his Doggies and they love him. When he wakes up and I get him out of bed, he immediately looks down for them and if he's not home the Dogs sit by his door, hoping that he's just napping or something. It's really sweet. He can't get to the sitting position on his own but can sit for as long as a min or two if you set him in the sitting position. He'd much rather stand or JUMP. I think he'll be walking as soon as his core is strong enough and he figures it out.

He has TWO best friends. He LOVES his cousin Max and then our next door neighbors have a little boy who is almost 15 months. Jace and Robert are so so cute together. Yesterday they got SOOOOOO excited when they saw each other, I love it.

I'm started a "Card Club". We meet once a month and makes cards. I get to buy LOTS of stampin supplies with the money they pay for the cards. It's nice! I'm so excited to have a way to fund my hobby. I can't wait until the Stampin Up! convention in July! It's going to be a blast. I just got a sneak peek at the new catalog and I'm SOOOOOOOOOO in love!

Bryce is almost done with his EMT basic class. We're trying to figure out the best course from here. He's made some calls and no one in valley does volunteer or part time work for EMT Basic, so he has to call Grantsville and Tooele to see if they will, if not it looks like he'll be going to Wendover every week to volunteer. They pay you if you're on a call. That would be a good experience because they do search & rescue, forest fires (brush/desert) and more. So they train you for all those cases so he could gain some good knowledge. He will start his EMT Intermediate when he feels he's good at the basic. He's taking this REALLY serious and doesn't want to forget anything and he wants to gain experience in all aspects of it. He dreams of the day where he can just be a firefighter but has been loving the process.

I will update more soon! Sorry, it's been so long!

My Growing Boy!

He has TWO teeth now. He got one and then about 5 days later he got the 2nd one. His runny nose turned into a DOUBLE ear infection and he has a dry (asthma like) cough now. So he has his 1st inhaler. Hopefully it's his first and his last!!!

You can see his BIG 'OLE teeth. My sister in law said to my mother in law once that Darron (her hubby) has big teeth like Shelley (they're dental people so they notice things like that). Well, I think Robert has his Grammy's BIG teeth :) I swear his bottle two teeth are as wide as mine.

Ok. So this is my hubby's and my cousin Kyle's and (LOTS OF PEOPLE'S) favorite saying. "That's What She Said." Don't ask what it means, if you don't know because I'm not going to tell you. But I found this shirt at Walgreens and HAD to get it for Robert! Do you see he holds his bottle on his own! He's been doing that for about a month now!

He ARMY crawls. It's adorable and he's FAST. He didn't like that his dad was playing with his cousin without him, so he decided to join in. We were babysitting Max and my SIL & BIL's house so they could go to the movies. These boys are best buds. You ask Max to say Robert and he says BABY. He's always concerned about where the BABY is. He LOVES him and ROBERT is so fascinated with Max.

We missed Dr. Darron's graduation from Dental school (Bryce has class that weekend), but we were there in spirit and supported him by wearing We Love Dr. Darron bracelets. This is how Robert showed his support.

He LOVED eating that bracelet.

This is his first time in a rear facing BIG BOY carseat. It wasn't leaned back enough so his head was flopping so I held it for him. He LOVED having me sit next to him. I'm sure it's boring in the backseat!

This little man LOVES these finger foods. They make so many cool things now. He does MOSTLY grab with his left hand. Shelley is trying to see if he'll go RIGHT, I don't really care. He really uses both hands but prefers his LEFT most of the time.

I fell asleep shortly after taking this picture. Oh how I love little boy cuddles!

Still waiting...

I hadn't realized that it had been so long since I posted. I hope you all forgive me. This weekend was amazing. It was awesome listening to the new prophet! I love conference. My sister in law came into town Friday night and while Bryce got his dirt bike ready for their trip to the dunes on Wednesday, I went shopping with his mom and sister for maturnity clothes for his sister. She's barely showing. She's only 12 weeks, but planning ahead. We had fun. We than rode with his mom around while she shot some pictures of some houses for work. I can't believe some of the houses we saw! HOLY HUGE! They're just hiding away in these little private lanes. I don't understand it. People spend a half a million or more for a house just to tear it down and rebuild. So really they're paying that for .75 arces. Crazy huh? Bryce and I just hung out together Saturday night. Than Sunday we spent the day at his parents house, eating way too much food and enjoying conference and each other. His brother and sister in law flew in around 7 on Sunday. It's fun to have the whole family here. Brionne leaves Tuesday night and Darron and LuAnne leave Friday night. So much fun. I'm so excited to be an aunt! I just can't wait to know what it is. My goal this summer is to be more crafty and spend my time more wisely, so I'm going to do some sewing and just a few fun projects that I have planned and hopefully get some scrapbooking done!!

I got sent home from work today because my boss said "you look green". I felt terrible. It's tax season and I was really trying to fake it. I had a headache that was so horrible that it was making me sick to my stomach and than I took my vitamins and it got even worse. NO I'm not pregnant, so don't even get the thought in your head (I actually took a test just to be sure). I'm feeling better but still not really wanting to eat, which is bad, because we're having Cafe Rio for dinner.

The update on the house is that I don't have one. It's down to three of us and they're just picking one of our offers. We're supposed the hear today, but it's 4PM and we still haven't heard. We'll see. I hope you're all doing well!

WOW!

That's my favorite word if you hadn't noticed. One of my dear friends is having her 100th blog post today and I said to her that I wasn't even close. Well, that wasn't entirely true because this is post 79. Yikes, I think I'm a little obsessed, but seriously I think I enjoy reading all my friends blogs more than I like posting. Sometimes forget that I can't just read everyone's blogs. My new favorite thing, thanks to the 100th blog post friend is google reader. You add all your friend's blogs to it and than it lets you know when there is a new post. Than you don't have to spend hours looking at the same post all the time! :)

We're going to Vegas for Easter. My little brother took his girlfriend home (for the 1st time--we've met her but not the extended family) and so we're going to see the babies. I'll make sure to take pictures so that everyone can see. We're going to take family pictures since everyone will be home!!

So AMAZING!

Not a whole lot has gone on lately. We're still waiting to hear on the house. I am getting more and more anxious each day. We finally had our meeting with the company who is buying our firm on Monday. You know that you pray and pray about something and you have no idea why something happened this way. When I was looking and interviewing for jobs, I ended up with 3 job offers in one day. Two of them being really good opportunities. After taking this one, I still wasn't sure why I was supposed to take it. The other one had health insurance and tons of holidays off, a 401K, etc and this one was just a job. Well, not only have a learned sooooooo much that will help us when Bryce starts his business, but I am now going to be working in the accounting department and handling all our current clients payrolls (which I already do), but I'll be learning to prepare payroll reports and I'll continue to do data entry. I also will be taking on some of their payrolls. The best part of all of this is they haven't even really seen what I can do, they have only heard from my current boss and they're starting me at $1.50 MORE an hour, the employee's health insurance is paid for and they offer a 401K and instead of matching they just put money into it each year. Plus I can ride trax to save gas and they'll pay for the trax pass. The Lord blesses us in so many ways and 6 months ago I thought I was doing something crazy, but I know now that it was the right thing. I've also applied to the LDS Business College which is the builidng next to ours and I'm going to get my associates in Business and than hopefully go to the U and get my bachelors. So excited. We are truely blessed.

House update

Well, the good news is they haven't given it to someone else and only ours and the other 2 offers are there. The bad news is the bank just barely assigned a negotiator yesterday and the ordered an apprasial which could take up to a week and when that's done they will make offers. Somehow they got approval to delay the foreclosure which was supposed to be the 14th. We'll see. We're really frustrated but there is not a whole lot we can do but wait.

Update on our CRAZY life!

Well, the newest update on the house is we're still anxiously waiting. We talked to our realtor today and they bank that we'd be buying it from is working up something. They have to have someone that could close by the 10th because on the 11th it's a foreclosure and would HAVE to go to auction which would mean that they would get a lot less money than they're asking for it. We're still hopefully and prayful that it would work out.
We've been trying to do "cheap" or "free" dates. So last night we went to Home Depot to pick out the paint for the house (if we get it) and we found a really cool toffee color for the front room which will match perfectly with our green and wood furniture and than we want to paint the kitchen RED. I know. I LOVE LOVE LOVE red. Except I saw this really cool orange kitchen but most of our kitchen stuff is Red, so we're going to stick with that.

The wall color is in the 2nd column 3rd from the bottom!!!

The kitchen color is the 2nd color TOP one. We can't decide to just do it under the chairrail or under and above!

We also picked out our fridge and washer/dryer while we were there! It was so much fun. I recommend just going and looking and dreaming while you can. We picked all GE appliances. We're pretty excited. Now we just need the HOUSE!!!!

This is the fridge we really like

Super fabulous washer that Bryce said we could get!!!

with the matching dryer!!

Other than that, not a whole lot is going on. Bryce starts his apprasial classes online and I'm doing my first independant study assignment this weekend!! Yikes! It's so hard getting back into school!

New Design for a New Day!

Ok. So my sweet little friend reminded me that it was not Valentines anymore, so I decided that I want it to be spring so my blog is spring colors now! Isn't that fun?

Update on the house....Wait there isn't one...We still haven't heard from the bank's realtor except that no one else has made an offer so the outlook looks good! Why can't they just call us! Well, we're packing this weekend anyway cuz what if they say yes on Monday and we close by Friday (which was the orginal plan) YIKES! We'd have to be really really ready. That would only give us two weekends. Thanks for all your prayers in our behalf.

We love you!

Update!!

Just thought that everyone might be ready for an update on the happenings in our lives. I am currently working for a CPA in the Millcreek area. I'm still selling Modbe but not as actively as before. I love the clothes, but I'm having a hard time getting people to host parties. http://www.cortney.mymodbe.com/. Bryce is working for Sugarhouse Moving and Storage . He seems to like it but is anxoius to get back in school so that he can start appraising with his mom.

We went to my grandma's cabin a few weeks back and are trying to plan another trip. We love the peacefulness of the Pine Valley Mountains. It so awesome to have a place to escape especially because it has so much meaning. We also went to Vegas for the Open House. That was a lot of fun especially because we got to see lots of people I hadn't seen in a really long time. Hopefully we can go to Disneyland soon. I was hopin we could go for New Years but that doesn't look like it's happening. My family did that a few years ago and it was so much fun. Other than that, we're not really planning trips right now. We're staying with Bryce's family for Thanksgiving and we're going to Vegas for Christmas. That will be fun. The babies will be so cute on Christmas morning. I can't wait to see them all excited!

Let's see what else, I'm slowly working on the thank you cards. I have about 30 done. Yikes. I have a long ways to go. Bryce and I are just watching the 3rd Season of Grey's Anatomy. I mean, Bryce isn't watching it! Oh wait, he is. We're going to watch the 2nd season of Prison Break next . Can't wait for the next season of 24 to come out. I missed all but the first 4 episodes. Maybe we need to do a 24 marathon so Bryce can realize it the best show ever. We'll have to borrow them from my mom when she's done. I only own season 3. LOL.

I'm currently reading and Bryce continues to read his favorite magazine. Maybe I'll get him to read someday. He'll be reading textbooks soon. hehe.
Other than that we're just organizing the the extra room and being husband and wife. I sometimes make dinner. I made sloppy joes's last night. I was so excited to get meat at this meat super sale at Albertsons. It was a killer deal.
Well, we love you all and hope to see you all soon!
Love,
Bryce & Cortney

Announcements and more!!

Well, I can finally say that I think pretty much everything is done but a few finishing touches. Keep your eyes out for your announcement. They're in the mail!! What a chore that way, but they turned out really really good! I love them!! As for my new job, I am currently employeed at a CPA firm in the Millcreek/Holladay area. It's an awesome atmosphere and the people are just great. The head CPA being the only male with 4 other woman working there. It's great! It's nice to be happy at work plus the hours are great! I don't have to be there until 9:30 am, but I can come in earlier if I want to and if it's super slow (like right after tax season) he told me I'll have to bring a novel. LOL.

As for the other news, Bryce and I will be married at Thanksgiving Point on the 22nd. My cancelation went through, but for some reason or another they're making us wait a year to be sealed, so we want to have a big party someplace "new" next year (new to us that is). We'll decide on a temple when it's closer! We're excited it's in 10 1/2 days! WOW! That's crazy! We can't wait. Well, I have to go finishing helping Bryce pack up his room! Crazy times! Love you all and can't wait to see you!!
