Bryce Update

Sorry, I've been TERRIBLE at updating. I have a bunch of things that I want to post. A few I'll post soon and a few I have to wait for a little bit longer (NO I AM NOT PREGO).

BUT The last post I did was about a job for Bryce. Because Advanced MD was bought out by ADP right around the time the job was supposed to post, it got delayed and delayed and delayed. Well, it finally posted last week and Bryce applied and had several interviews and found out Monday that he GOT THE JOB!

I'm so proud of him. He's worked so hard for this and REALLY deserved it. He still hasn't gotten the written offer so it will be a few days until he gets to start and he'll have to work BOTH jobs for about 5 weeks. Not 16 hour days but 12-14 hour days. His manager now is NOT wanting to let him go so he's going to accommodate both because he really wanted the new job!

I will post pictures of Easter and everything else that has been happening soon. Until then, I'll leave you with this picture.

Some of Robert's last days with Aunt Brionne as his babysitter. PS He's doing soooooooooo well in Daycare!!!

Daycare....

I never imagined how hard it would be to find a daycare for Robert.

We have been EXTREMELY blessed the last 17 months (with 1 month to go) to have Bryce's FABULOUS sister Brionne watch Robert. She's amazing. She created a blog for me so that I could see what was going on each day. At the beginning it was so I knew when he was eating and pooping and now it's just to see what he's eating and all the fun stuff he's doing. It's hard that I'm not going to have the personal connection. That Robert isn't going to have the love of an Aunt and his best friend and cousin Max with him almost everyday. Robert can finally FULLY say Max (including the "X"). It's adorable to hear. He calls Aunt Brionne AMA which is kind of like Aunt MA :) They have a special connection and we are going to miss the Carrolls so so much when they move to San Fransisco. It's a necessary move but one that we're not happy about.

I went and interviewed my first daycare this am. It wasn't BAD. I don't think the kids were not safe or being ignored but it just didn't feel right. From the moment I walked it. I wanted so badly for this to be the right one, but we've been praying hard that we would be directed and I know it was the Lord's hand in what we need to do.  Gaby was nice. The kids looked happy but it just wasn't right for Robert. So I went back to searching. I think I just printed off 15-20 ads from KSL and this childresourceandreferralmetro.com. Hopefully I can find one in all of these. They're not as convenient (ie 2 streets south) but it's not about that. This is who will be teaching Robert most of the things he learns. He will spend MORE time with them then he'll spend with me. I want someone to fill the "daytime mommy" (as we affectionately called Brionne) spot. I want him to learn, thrive and be happy. If I can't be there, I want the best that I can afford :) It's expensive. One daycare center charges $800 a month! Are you kidding me?!?! I know you're watching my child but come on!

Wish me LUCK!

Robert Says...

Recently Robert has really been repeating everything I say but he's putting words to things now.

We went to my family's cabin this weekend with my in-laws and we pulled up and Robert pointed and said NANA. That's what I jokingly called my mom last time we were there. She didn't like it but she did like that he was missing her.

His storage container for his bathroom toys is a turtle and he will say turtle now. It's actually adorable the way he says it. tuturl.

And tonight after we got home, I paused his DVD player to bring him in but I wasn't going to bring it in and he points to it and says BUZZ.

His two favorite things are keeeys and ownnnn aka phone. We gave him one of our old cellphones and he thinks he's so big.

He's understanding so much. He will point to mine and his own head, ears, eyes and nose. Today he said tongue when he clicked it. He likes to stick his fingers up your nose in true boy fashion.

He's also pushing his limits. He very curious. I thought he was just being defiant so I started ready up about it. Apparently at this age is they want your reaction. So they say "NO" and do the naughty thing to see if you'll change your mind. We're not particularly fond of this new stage but we love him still. This has also lead to fits. They're actually funny and I just step over him and leave him be. They last about 5-10 seconds and then he realizes it's not working and then he's fine.

He has become quite the mama's boy and if I leave the room he cries. It's pretty sweet.

He was REALLY grumpy this weekend. He's had a cold and a slight fever and just wasn't himself. He hasn't been eating and he's thrown up a little a few times. We just thought flu/cold. This weekend he'd cry all night and had an upset stomach and to top it all off he cut his top TWO molars! He now has 8 teeth. 4 middle top, 2 middle bottom and his two top molars. Not really the right order but we'll take it :)

Robert Jack is 15 months Old

At his 15th Month Appointment--Check out those calves that he inherited from his mother!

Watching Ice Age on the iPad with cousin Max (Max's daddy's iPad)

I've been meaning to do the post for a couple weeks now but I keep forgetting. Robert was 15 months on December 30th. We had his Dr's appt that day and he was 25 lbs 4 oz and 32 inches long. I'm pretty sure that was 60% and 84%. His head was in the 80% and I think was 19 inches. I can't remember exactly.

He's really progressing and it's really fun. She asked me some pretty specific questions that they have to ask now for Autism and he passed. The questions she asked were, is he running, does he have 3-5 words and the big one was does he play with an imagination. I had to think about it but he uses my blow dryer as a car. Yes he does. Does he mimic you? Like want a rag when your cleaning, etc. Yes he does :)

So to point on those questions, Robert doesn't really walk anywhere. He's an on the go boy. RUNNING and falling and RUNNING some more. He almost had to get stitches the day before his 15 month birthday. He was running with a HUGE toy and fell on it. His Grammy was watching him and she felt terrible BUT I'm sure he'll be just like his Uncle Dougie and have LOTS of sets of stitches.

As for words--he has way more than 5 he says:
Mama
Dada
Papa (his FAVORITE person)
Mama but it has different inflection and it's Grammy
Ma Ma and that's Max--I promise you can tell the different
Mooore=More
Dun-Done
Up
Tank To-Thank You, but he only repeats it
Soooos-Shoes. I tell him we need to put his shoes on and he says it and then will bring them to me
Trash
Booooom-Broom-his favorite toy
Caaw-Car
Ball
Bank-Blankie
Bippie-Sippy
Nana-Banana
Ceeese-Cheese
mmmmm-Yummy
buh bye--bye

First combined words was "dada buh bye" that he said right after Bryce left.

Animal Sounds
quack quack--this became the sound for EVERY animal and we're slowing getting him to say the other animal sounds again.
Mooo
Cak a doo--Rooster
Swack, Swack-Parrot

He pretty much will repeat anything we say or at least try too. He knows where his nose is and where our noses are and says beep. He knows where his BIG OLE belly is. He loves his belly for some reason.

Robert is REALLY strong. Very unusually STRONG for someone his age. The other day he had the broom and popper toy in one hand and the play basketball in the other. He's always been strong but he's starting to throw things so we have to keep a very good eye on him so he doesn't hurt or break someone/anything.

The reason I remembered to post was because I didn't want to forgot to write down this story. Shelley said that yesterday as she was watching him he came into the kitchen (his favorite place to be since he has lots of gadgets) and got out two lids and a big spoon and he took them back into the living room and started scooping food from them and making smacking noises with his mouth. She just watch in awe. He's never used his imagination like that ALL on his own. So much fun. His most imagination was most things are cars and make a motor sound.

He loves to pretend to vaccum and clean our windows---maybe he's trying to tell me I need to do it more. He loves everything that makes noise. Most kids run away and Robert runs towards it in awe.

Our goal is when our boys (and girls if they want) turn 12 they get to pick out a MAJOR fixer upper car and they will work on the car until their 16. If they work on it with Bryce and learn and fix it up, then they can have it. I forsee this being Robert's FAVORITE thing to do. I see him outside in the summer with some fake tools helping Bryce fix the fence or helping dad mow the lawn. He's getting too big too fast!

I can't wait to see all the fun things that he does in the next few month.

I'm going to try and record them more often.

Robert's 1st Birthday Photoshoot

My friend Alisa Cazer took this AMAZING pictures of Robert. She took Robert's 6 month pictures as well. She gave me a CD with 120 pictures on it and expects me to just get a few made up! HAHA! I love them all!! She's so reasonable too. $50 for kids and $100 for families and she photoshops the pictures. She doesn't have a studio so she does them different places in UTAH. She's worth every penny.

Bryce asked my why we could just take pictures of Robert....You'll see why as you view them.

Signing MORE! I LOVE this picture.

I want to blow the upside down one up!!

AWESOME!!

Happy Halloween

We did a lot of fun things for Halloween this year. Since we have Robert now, I wanted to start some fun traditions. One of those traditions I wanted to start was a pumpkin patch. I don't have the pictures of the pumpkin patch. (My sister and father in law took them) but I will post them soon. But we went back to Wheeler Farm and did the hay/tractor ride. Kind of lame for adults but the boys LOVED it. Then we went and looked at the Geese in the pond.

Bryce and I both had work parties this year (we usually do) but this year we both dressed up. I was an 80's girl and Bryce was a redneck. It was awful! Mr Robert was supposed to be a Monkey but when Brionne was dressing him to come to my work, she found out his costume didn't fit. So I left work and got him a new costume and we just went trick or treating at Bryce's work.

Halloween was celebrated by most on Saturday in Utah. We went Trick or Treating with the Carroll's. Max had so much fun. Allan gave him a piece of candy and said this one is gooey and he's all OHHHHHHHHHHH....like it was the coolest thing ever!

The baby girls are being placed back with their dad on Tuesday (November 2nd) and so this is kind of a bitter-sweet post for me. They are seriously the sweetest little things. The top picture is them with my mom's dad. He asked my mom what we can do to make this not happy. They have so much love in our family. Hopefully the dad can do that (he's 57, never had kids, doesn't have a job, etc etc) or he realizes that they deserve a better life. We love you Annie & Emmie!!! Sissy is praying for your protection and knows that Heavenly Father is SOOOOOO aware and will be watching over you!

My Early Birthday Present

I went to Vegas for the weekend for a Wedding of a Family Friend. Bryce told me he was working on a surprise for me. He REALLY had me fooled. I thought he had stained the banister for our stairs BUT he had sold the tent trailer that we've had for sale for 6 weeks and bought me a netbook. I've been wanting one for awhile so that I could use my digital software on the go! He's such a great hubby!

Opening my box

Robert thought the newspaper was the most fabulous thing ever!!!

Here he is with the paper!!

Happy Birthday Robert Jack

A Year in Photos!

Happy Birthday Little Man!

Opening Presents

Eating Cake

Let's see if I can think of all the fun things that Robert does :)

*He walks ALL over now! He thinks he's so big. Last night he was trying to RUN and kept falling on his face.
*He says, "MaMa, DaDa, BaBa(bottle), BuhBuh(Bye Bye), Yep, No.No.No. (while pointing), KU(clock), tick.tick (tickle tickle) He repeats other things as well
*He signs, "Fan, Light, More, All Done, Dog, Elephant, Bear"
*He LOVES to empty the tupperware drawers
*He has a new love of M&M's
*He overloaded on sugar yesterday and had a REALLY upset tummy (up 2 hours in the middle of the night :()
*He does tricks on his TRIKE from my parents (and anyone who knows my dad knows that he's NOT happy about this)
*He clicks his tongue
*He has the best motorboat around---he makes that sound every time anything electronic gets turned on OR when he plays with cars
*His blows snot in and out of his nose and laughs. Poor child has mama's allergies so he always has a running nose. He loves to do this when he sneezes in the car and I can't wipe his nose because I'm driving.
*He takes breathing treatments like a champ
*He's becoming quite attached and cries when we're not in the room.
*He loves his Max and gets excited when he seems him
*Sometimes he'll choose Aunt Brionne over mom :( She is his daytime mommy though
*He LOVES his grandparents
*He can sport a pretty awesome mohawk. Maybe we should die it for Halloween (my dad would LOVE that)
*He can maneuver up and down stairs but sometimes he forgets he can't stop and sit.
*He's learning to hold is own---now we have to teach him that he has to share
*He loves to play with Grammy's tin foil and saran wrap :)
*He will eat pretty much anything we put in front of him and says MMMMMM.... with the first bite almost everytime.
*He has four BIG teeth (like his Uncle Darron and Grammy, HAHA!)
*He's faster than fast
*He still loves cords. Way too much. He gets so excited when he can reach the mouse attached to our TV. We try to get him just to eat the old nebulizer tubes but they're not always good enough. i have a tube with me at all times :)
*He's so naughty at church and just wants to play with all the kids during sacrament
*Sunday School is during nap time so he's so grouchy!
*He loves the park
*He loves to swing
*He'll stop anything and everything to watch the clock and says "KU" when he hears it. (at Grammy's
*He's also very aware of barking and tries to find the doggies
*He's the friendliest boy around but is so busy he doesn't really have "time" to chit chat
*He does this head bob that is so darn cute and thinks he's so funny for doing it. He does it usually in the highchair
*If you're not paying attention to him and he wants you to then he turns his head to the side and stares you down-it's adorable

He's perfect! We love him and even though he's becoming quite opinionated and very stubborn (he is a red-head ya know) we love him more and more each day!!!

What a weekend.....

Let's just say this wasn't my favorite weekend of all time. There were moments of pure happiness but I think my "peaches" made for a not so fun weekend. It started out great. I had the pleasure of watching Max (my nephew) Friday-Saturday at about 5PM so his parents could celebrate their 5 year wedding anniversary (Grammy was in Chicago so I got to actually watch him) and I watched Jace on Friday night for Jen & Joe's date (we swap babysitting once a month :))

Bryce's parents bought a new camper and don't have room to store it so it's on our side yard. This is the boys watching Byce (Bryce---as Max says it) and Papa back the trailer up. They seriously stood there for a solid 5-10 minutes and then kept going back over and over again fro about 20+ minutes. It was the cutest thing. I think my son is going to be a giant. He isn't that much shorter than Max (the toehead on the right) who is 23 months (about) and Jace is slightly taller than Max who is 18 months. SERIOUSLY! My son is only 11 almost 12 months and he's not that much shorter than these boys! AHHHH!!!!

This is Max the next day in the trailer with Papa. He does this really cute thing when he sits down and pats the seat next to him. Papa was a good sport and stopped working to sit next to him and pose for a picture.

Then Saturday night came, I was supposed to can my peaches during the day and I have yet to master two kids (since I don't have two) and so I went to start them Saturday and ended up having to take Robert to Instacare. He's ok, just a mild skin irritation that hurts when he pees so he SCREAMS (my child DOES NOT CRY) so needless to say I didn't get my peaches done.

So Sunday, I accidentally slept in and around 11 start getting everything ready. I'm just about to mix the syrup and the water is ready for blanching and I grab the top box and it leaks fluid. Yep you read that right. 60 lbs of peaches totally ROTTEN! I was so frustrated. They were ready on Thursday but I had my Stampin Up Card Club and then Friday night I had 3 little boys and Saturday I chased 2 little boys and Saturday night at Instacare so it was just poor timing but my hubby was fabulous and just kept telling me he was sorry. I just was looking forward to peaches all winter and to have something healthy to feed Robert. I mean, come on, I got 60 lbs of peaches for $30 and I can't find them anyway for cheaper than $20 for 24 lbs now!!! UGH!

Bear Lake 0813-15 2010

We love going to Bear Lake with the Thompson's. Dan and Bryce get along so well...almost too well. Our boys are starting to become friends as well. They have a little girl as well, but she was at her dad's this weekend so she didn't get to come and Andrea is having another little boy in October.

Robert checking out Kolvin. This was really their first interaction in a long time.

Crawling to the water!

Splashing on the Beach

Eating his 1st BBQ chippy :)

Dragonfly--it must have been mating season there were HUGE ones stuck together and lots of little ones flying everywhere.

Robert has a "cold". The poor little guy has the reddest eyes and he a runny nose. He still has it. It's been about 9 days now. He also coughs and coughs. I feel so bad for him. But despite it all, he's as happy as can be!

Mr. Kolvin. Kolvin and Robert are the same height and weight. Kolvin is 4 1/2 months older than Robert.

Going up the stairs. Yes that a nebulizer tubing behind him. It's better than the DVD player or TV cord :)
